If I closed my eyes [while onstage] it would feel exactly like I was playing with The Specials.
Roddy Radiation, Lead Guitarist of The Specials
We always had the music of Madness, The Specials, The Beat and Bad Manners playing in our house in the early 80s, but I was too young to see these bands first time around. After watching 2 RUDE play all their hits under one roof, I thought “I’m booking this band for my 40th Birthday party!” Not only did we get classic 2-Tone and original ska, they even provided party crowd-pleasers from Teardrop Explodes, The Pogues and Tenpole Tudor.
My absolute highlight was that they learned The Pretenders’ ‘Brass in Pocket’, just so I could realise my childhood dream of being a rock star. For one night only, I was pop goddess Chrissie Hynde (…in my mind, if not the audience’s!). Unlike me they sounded superb, were complete professionals, knew how to work a party and won over loads of new fans from my friends and family in the crowd. 2 Rude. Two-Tone-Tastic!

I am a trustee of the “Welsh Warrior”- Richard Hunt Foundation. 2 Rude
have played for us 3 times over the past few years and have always give a superb
performance. They are a truly professional and very talented band and I would not
hesitate to hire them again for future fund raising events.

If you want your audience or guests to have a great time then look no further than this band. They were legendary. From the first notes of “One Step Beyond” they had the crowd at Manchester’s first 80s tribute festival on their feet dancing; many didn’t sit down for their entire set. Full of energy, punch and enthusiasm they rattled through a set containing all the standards and all played excellently. A real fun band who everyone loved and want to see again. I would not hesitate to say this is the best ska band I have seen in a long time and can’t rate them highly enough. Book them!
Gillian Potter-Merrigan, 80s Fest
By the time South Wales tribute band 2 RUDE strutted on to the stage, the crowd’s unrestrained, wild claps and cheers were rewarded by the band plunging headfirst with total, unrestrained, freewheeling glee into a set that impeccably recreated some of the most popular and iconic Ska and 2-Tone songs ever written. From the minute they launched into Madness’ immortal classic ‘One Step Beyond’, 2 Rude had the entire audience in the palm of their hand. For the best part of two solid hours they tore their way through a stunning, blistering set of hits by The Specials, Madness, The Beat and Bad Manners (to name but four), all replicated with faultless note-for-note accuracy and carried relentlessly through with an ebullient, infectious enthusiasm.
No small wonder this 7-piece ensemble of extraordinary musicians and players have performed thousands of sell-out shows to gig-going, music-loving, Ska and punk-crazed aficionados across the length and breadth of the country. They were professionalism personified, clearly in love with the music and entertaining the throngs of dancing, moshing, increasingly uncontrollable revellers, who didn’t stop grooving and singing along to the tunes for as long as the band was belting out the classics.
As the flecks of sweat stopped whiplashing from foreheads and the crowd reluctantly dispersed into the cold, dark night, 2 Rude’s passionate, faithful sonic reconstructions from a historic back catalogue of seminal, unforgettable hits left everyone departing on a blissful, ecstatic high. 5/5

I booked 2 Rude to play at Newbridge Rugby Club after seeing them a
few times in various establishments and really enjoyed what I saw. I have always
been a big fan of Ska/2 Tone and the band brought back memories of that great 80’s
sound. We booked them for a Friday evening in June 2010 and hoped that it would
be a good night, we were wrong… it wasn’t a good night, it was a great night! The
band showed up nice and early and carried out a quick sound check. The club filled
up really quickly with people waiting to see one of the best 2 Tone tribute acts in the
UK. When the band hit the stage at 9 o’clock, everyone hit the dance floor. I don’t
think the club had ever seen a night like it. Normally it takes a few numbers to warm
the crowd up but not 2 Rude, they had the floor bouncing from the off.
They ripped through their set playing all the greats from The Special, Beat, Madness,
Bad Manners etc. By 11 o’clock the sweat was running down the walls and the crowd
were shouting for more, which the band were more happy to do.
I cannot say enough about how great a live band 2 Rude are. I have had
the pleasure of seeing them all over South Wales and can honestly say, I will be
booking them again in the future. RUDE BOYS!
Ian Dugmore, Newbridge RFC
2 Rude are one of the hottest Ska tribute bands in the UK today. This is
an exciting 7 piece live band with lively and very talented musicians. The frontman
Mark Harry is extremely cool and charismatic, and never fails to deliver. This amazing
band will have you up and dancing to the 2 tone classics of Madness, The Specials,
Bad Manners etc and even pay tribute to other well known bands within the
Scootering scene. All members of the band are well experienced and never fail to
get a crowd on their feet and skanking. You can tell from the minute they appear on
stage that 2 Rude are no ordinary Ska band as the quality of their music
is immediately apparent. A very experienced band with a great future ahead of them
and if you get a chance to see them, don’t miss out on it.

Thanks very much for performing at our 2014 Beer & Ale Festival; everyone I have seen since the gig has said how good you were, and we would like to have you back! In the 4 years we have been doing the festival, you definitely went down the best!
Colin, ‘Bird in Hand’ pub, Saltford
We have booked many bands over the last 20 years, many of whom are very well known to the UK public, but none of them can match the sheer energy and quality of sound of 2 RUDE. They did 2 sets of 1 hour, with a 45 minute break in between. They brought the house down with their professionalism and their enthusiasm for everyone to have a great night. A big thank you to every member of the band, and I can’t wait until we book you again.
